Amazon Warehouse Deals: How to Score 30-60% Off New-Like Returns

Updated May 19, 2026

Amazon Warehouse is Amazon's own clearance section for customer returns, open-box, and refurbished items. Most shoppers don't even know it exists, but it's where Amazon disposes of the items it can't resell as new. Prices run 30-60% below retail with full Amazon Prime shipping and the same 30-day return window as new items.

The 5 condition grades

Used – Like New
Item is essentially new. May have been opened, may be missing original packaging, but the item itself is perfect. Typical discount: 10-15% below new.
Used – Very Good
Light cosmetic wear, fully functional, all major accessories present. Discount: 20-35% below new.
Used – Good
Visible cosmetic wear or minor accessory missing. Item works as new. Discount: 35-50% below new.
Used – Acceptable
Significant wear or missing accessories. Functional but cosmetically rough. Discount: 50-65% below new.
Refurbished
Returned, inspected, repackaged by Amazon or the manufacturer. Comes with a 90-day Amazon Renewed warranty. Discount: 20-40% below new.

The categories that consistently deliver

  • Electronics — laptops, TVs, headphones, cameras. Often returns from people who didn't like the feel but the item is mint. 25-45% savings common.
  • Power tools — DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita kits get returned often (buyer's remorse). Like-New condition is essentially new for 30% off.
  • Small kitchen appliances — Vitamix, Ninja, Instant Pot. Some never used at all.
  • Vacuums — Dyson, Shark. Sometimes used for a day, then returned. Massive savings.

What to avoid

  • Mattresses — Amazon Warehouse will sell returned mattresses. Just don't.
  • Items with critical accessories — that "Acceptable" condition camera missing the original lens cap and SD card might not save you anything after replacing parts.
  • Anything sold by a third-party warehouse seller — Amazon's own warehouse listings say "Sold by Amazon Warehouse." Third-party warehouse-style listings don't have the same return guarantee.

The trick most shoppers miss

The same product can appear at multiple Warehouse condition tiers simultaneously. Open the "All Buying Options" link below a Warehouse listing — you'll see all available used condition tiers side by side, often with $20-100 differences in price. The Used-Good tier is frequently the best value because the cosmetic wear is invisible after unboxing but the price drop is meaningful.

How returns work

Amazon Warehouse items get the same 30-day return window as new items. If condition doesn't match the rating, request a return and Amazon almost always refunds without issue. This safety net is what makes Warehouse shopping low-risk.

Direct URL

Amazon's default search rarely shows Warehouse results. Go directly:

  • amazon.com/warehouse-deals
  • amazon.com/renewed (for Amazon Renewed certified-refurbished)

Sort by % off in both sections.

StealAlert aggregates clearance from Walmart, Target, Best Buy, REI and more — not Amazon Warehouse directly (Amazon doesn't publish a public clearance API). But our Refurb & Open Box section tracks similar deals across retailers.
